一千年前英国人是没有姓氏(Last Name)的。人们互相只会称呼First Name，如Edwin, Hilda等。

还有一些没什么好描述的，只好扯一些亲戚关系了，如“Johnson”(John的儿子), “Robertson”(Robert的儿子), 以及“Watkins”(Wat家族的)等。
